Great Welcome

We stayed one night when travelling to Fort William to canoe across Scotland. I expect you will either love this place or loathe it but the welcome you will receive from the owner and his son will I am sure be fulsome. I accept that presently the place is going through a major renovation and in places is like a building site but my room was large, very attractive with one impressive stone wall, spotlessly clean, excellent bathroom with shower and comfortable bed with quality cotton sheets. The owner is a character with a wicked sense of humour, be prepared, but I could not fault the way we were treated. Despite it being late on Sunday evening and the kitchen being closed Steve, the owner's son, rustled up a very good meal. The full English breakfast the following morning was first class and well cooked. The bar and restaurant have yet to be renovated and are somewhat scruffy but if the room I stayed in is an indication of things to come then this hotel will be the place to stay. We greatly enjoyed our stay and really appreciated the welcome we received, I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel but have a sense of humour and understand that work is ongoing. Our best wishes to the owner and his family and hope they achieve the results they wish.
